It has been more than a week since my last post.
I love writing on a tangent lately so I'd better not putting any title to this one..

It's almost 3 weeks I'm doing paediatrics...haven't done much at all..haven't even been to ward rounds!!I'm going tomorrow!!(Jon, who shud go with me tomorrow isn't going, so I'm considering...if he didn't then I'd be left all by myself..n I hate being put on the spot by the doctors)

I don't think I'll specialise in paediatrics...I don't think I'll ever gonna be able to finish reading all those books...there's so much u need to know...but I'm thinking of paediatrics surgery...I went to paediatrics surgery outpatients the other day with Jon and we sat in the consultation room with a retired paeds surgeon, Mr Justin Kelly...He was really nice, he loves to make jokes, tell stories and he taught us a lot...the 4 hours spent with him worth 1 week of tutes..I think he's almost 80y/o and he was only there because Mr Robert Stunden was on unpaid sabbatical leave..(Sabbatical leave is an extended period away from work to pursue study or other developmental opportunities to maintain motivation and expertise)..well anyway, (see...I'm going off at a tangent again) I think paeds surgery is interesting, U get to see babies, kids & adolescents....U don't always have to put ur scalpel on all your patients..U'll do things that will make a whole lot of difference to the kids' life..they'll thank you for the rest of their life..U don't deal with smokers, junkies...n there aren't as many surgical things with paeds anyway...u do refer them to other surgeons...One interesting conclusion I made is paeds surgeon would lost counts on how many genitals they've had their hands on...there are many things can go wrong with testicles...hahah..I'm thankful I'm a girl!!

Hmm...last week I met up with AJ...a friend from STF who were on holiday...we weren't the best of friends back then but I do like meeting up with my old friends that I made the effort to organise a dinner with Gge, Sujai, Aishah & Messa (yup2..there are 5 of us STF9802 in Melbourne)...but only Gge n Sujai made it..we had a filling dinner at Blok M and after AJ left, we had some hot chocolates & desserts at San Churro & as when I thought I could head home (I live in a suburb while they are all city people), Sujai expressed her wish to go to Nandos...we headed there and had chicken wings and fries...




I have a case presentation next Wednesday so I guess I have to go to the ward rounds tomorrow...I need to look for a case!please let there be some interesting cases on the wards or the ED...
